St.Neots V Huntingdon (Peterborough Premier)

Following their close win in the opening game of the season, Huntingdon headed to St.Neots trying to make it a perfect 2-0 start. 

In the first quarter, it looked like they were going to do this, as they stormed out to a 24-12 lead.  St.Neots were unable to chip away at the lead during the 2nd quarter, as both sides exchanged baskets, making the score 37-24 at halftime. 

The 3rd quarter was similar, with the teams still only able to trade scores, leaving Hawks taking an 11-point lead into the 4th quarter.  As St.Neots managed to close the gap to 64-55 at one point with 5 minutes remaining, Michael Barclay then got hot, scoring 10 points in the remaining 5 minutes giving Hawks a convincing 80-65 final scoreline.


Michael Barclay was the top scorer for Hawks with 22 points.  He was supported well by debutante Steve Claringbould who got 17, whilst Matt Parsons and Chris Banks scored 17 and 12 points respectively.
