Borough Titans V Huntingdon (Peterborough Premier)
Huntingdon carried their perfect 4-0 record on the road to Borough Titans, without 2 members of their starting five.
They continued this good form in the first quarter, in which Michael Barclay scored 9 points to give Hawks an 18-14 lead at the end of the period. They continued throughout the second quarter, extending their lead to 9 points at 40-31 at half time.
In the third quarter, good work from Steve Claringbould meant Hawks kept the lead throughout, however Claringbould picked up 3 fouls late on in the quarter, fouling him out of the game having scored 10 points in the quarter and 22 in total. With Hawks now only left with 6 players, one of which was already on 4 fouls, it appeared as if a tough 4th quarter was on the cards. This was the case as went behind straight away and stayed there until the final 2 minutes, when they were again able to tie it at 72. Ryan Mills then hit a big 3 pointer with 45 seconds left, giving Hawks a 3-point lead. However Titans were able to score again, with 20 seconds remaining, seemingly leaving Hawks with a shot at victory, or overtime. However they managed to turn the ball over at half court, giving Titans an open lay-up for the game as time ran out.
In the disappointing loss Steve Claringbould top scored with 22 despite being fouled out in just 3 quarters. Michael Barclay with18, Jon Hipple 13 and Ryan Mills 10 were the other Hawks in double figures.
