Huntingdon Vs Titans (Peterborugh Premier)
Huntingdon needed to win this game to get them back onto a winning streak and with their key players back there were no excuses. They faced the Peterborough Titans who beat them earlier in the season by 2 points and thankfully they did win 82 – 57.
The first quarter saw the Hawks coming out playing a man to man defence but the Titans seemed to be able to score fairly easy by it and they ended the quarter 19 -15.
Huntingdon took advice from one of their veteran players and switched their defence which seemed to work very well and created quite a few turnovers. With the strong play of Matt Parsons and Steve Claringbould the Hawks started to control the game and ended the half 48 -34.
The second half saw Hawks firmly take control of the game and the intensity levels increased at both ends of the court. The defence was working very well and the offence was starting to flow. After a couple of frustrating games this seemed to be the win that the Hawks need and they ran out the game winning 82 – 57.
Steve Claringbould top scored with 22 points, Matt Parsons had 19, Michael Barclay had 11 and Jon Hipple had 10.
